Why “Your Law Firm is a Business, Take it to the Next Level” is the One Legal Podcast You Should Subscribe To
By Next Level Pod on July 27th, 2021 in Uncategorized
There are so many legal podcasts out there. Why should you subscribe to another one?
Well, today we’re telling you why.
One of the most distinctive features of this show is the variety of perspectives your hosts will bring. We have extensive knowledge and experience on both the marketing and operational sides of running a law firm.
These are the very things you need in order to build, scale, and succeed in your law firm. They are the elements that make up a strong business, take you from start to finish, and protect you when the unexpected hits.
Here are some other reasons why this legal podcast is different from all the others:
We’re Teaching What They Didn’t Teach You in Law School
When Mark works with his clients on their marketing, he usually starts with a big rebranding. During this process, his clients have countless “aha” moments. They realize the things they excel at and the kind of clients they want to work with. This changes the direction of their law firm for the next few years.
Working with these clients has made it clear that there are gaps in law school education. There are no classes on branding in law school. Students don’t go to law school to learn how to run a business at all. They don’t learn how to create systems or workflows. All they learn is the legal side of things. However, here on our podcast, we’ll teach you what law school never did.
We’ll Talk All About Workflows and Systems From Personal Experience
When Melanie started working on advanced cases or with big clients, she often forgot about her marketing and other clients. This is because it is very hard to create and maintain balance as you are growing a law firm. The more the firm continues to grow, the more challenges there will be.
However, there are things in a law firm that have to happen. This is where systems and workflows come in handy. Unfortunately, most of the time our brains don’t think that way. Instead of taking a little bit of time to figure out how we’re doing something and then documenting it, we just do the thing and get it over with. This, however, won’t help you build, expand, or grow a business.
Additionally, workflows and systems are proactive. They help with marketing, process management, and to secure your business when the unexpected hits. For example, systems saved a lot of firms during COVID.
So, on our show, we’ll teach you all about these beneficial workflows and how to make them for your own business’ success.
You Need to View Your Firm as a Legal Practice and a Business
A lot of law firm owners only work on their legal practice. The reality, however, is that it will hurt you to think of your firm as only a legal practice.
You have to see it as a business, as well. You must view the two elements of your firm (legal and business) separately or hire someone to run one or the other.
The Structure of Our Show
We have lots of ideas and interviews lined up, but the podcast won’t just be interviews every week.
We will be discussing topics that provide actionable insights to law firm owners and their teams. Our primary goal is that you will be able to take away actionable items that you can then go back and incorporate into your business.
The interviews we will be doing will be with law firm owners who have made some of these leaps we’ve mentioned. In those interviews, we’ll talk about things that worked for them or that they tried and didn’t work. We will also be highlighting some of our team members and guests outside of the legal industry who can help any business get to the next level.
