Highlights from The Clio Cloud Conference

Have you heard of the Clio Cloud Conference?
It’s an annual conference for law firm owners with multiple tracks and lots of community engagement opportunities.
This year, ClioCon was held in Nashville and it was a great time. One of the highlights was connecting with other law firm owners and learning about each other’s practices. It’s so nice to hear how others are doing things in their firms, what tools they’re using, and where they’re working–remote or in office.
We also heard a lot of great content about how to run a successful law firm. During the conference, a variety of topics were covered including marketing, web presence, customer service, and more.
Let’s dive into all of this further and paint a picture of what ClioCon is all about.
Features of ClioCon 2022
There were so tracks on a wide variety of subjects throughout the conference. A lot of the sessions didn’t have anything to do with Clio itself. There was marketing content, a lot of practice management content, and more content that will help your business.
One of our favorite things about the conference is that they have something called Clio Lab. You can go and talk to the product managers and product designers to tell them what you think, what do like, what you don’t like, and more. They take suggestions all day long and talk to their clients one-on-one.
Once again, though, if you’re not a Clio user, you can still get so much out of the conference. You could go to the entire conference and not learn anything about Clio. There are probably seven tracks along with multiple workshops going on at all times.
Our Highlights
One of the sessions that stood out to us was led by Mark Britton, a former lawyer who founded and sold Avvo. He talked about basic business principles and why you need to treat your law firm as a business. He emphasized how important it was to be good at running a business if you want to own a law firm.
Another great session (which was a keynote) was given by Priya Parker. She wrote a book about gathering and why we get together with other people. It was great to hear how sociology actually affects our business and how we interact with our team and clients and how we can use sociological principles of meeting in groups to be more effective for our team and clients.
If any of this sounds interesting to you, buy your ticket as soon as possible for next year’s conference. It will again be in Nashville at the Gaylord Opry Land Resort and will take place on October 9-10, 2023. Check out the Clio Conference website or reach out to us if you need a discount code.
