How to Utilize Podcasting to Grow Your Firm
By Next Level Pod on April 12th, 2023 in Uncategorized
We recently had a conversation with Danny Ozment from Emerald City Productions. In full transparency, Danny and his team produce our podcast, and since we know him and his team so well, we knew he would add a lot of value to our listeners. We discussed many aspects of getting started in podcasting as a lawyer, including how a podcast can turn into actual prospective clients for a law firm.
A podcast helps to gain listeners’ trust, build relationships and eventually generate leads and referrals. If you are ready to settle in for the long run, a podcast can help you uplevel your business in ways you never expected.
Below are three tips to help you generate leads through your podcast, according to Danny.
Podcasting Is a Long-Term Investment
Podcasts will not go viral, so you must go into it knowing that even if you begin to grow a small audience, it may take six to seven months before they call you. Building a relationship and earning your prospective clients’ trust takes time. It will earn a potential client’s trust even if they visit your website and see many episodes posted consistently.
Be Consistent From the Start
You have to go into podcasting with the intent to stick with it consistently for a year. Decide before you begin releasing episodes if you want to come out with a show every week, biweekly, or every month. Whatever you decide to do, stick with it. The more you can do, the better, but above all, you must be consistent.
Create a Lead Magnet
A lead magnet can be in the form of a checklist or one-page document with information such as “The Top 5 Ways to Make Money Through Podcasting.” You can create a funnel around this where you collect people’s email addresses in exchange for the lead magnet – which also takes a level of trust for your listeners to provide you with this information. Now that you are building an email list, you can contact your listeners directly.
