If you own or manage a law firm, you’re in the right place. This is the show where we’ll take an in-depth look at how to run a strong business, not just practice law.
However, in our very first episode we wanted to start by simply introducing things:
Melanie’s Professional Background
She didn’t realize it at the time, but looking back, Melanie can see how she’s always been drawn to the legal industry. So, as soon as she had the opportunity, she attended law school.
After she graduated, she practiced at a couple of different firms around the Chicago area. In 2006, she decided to open her own firm based on a desire for flexibility. She practiced in that firm from 2006 to 2018, giving her a good 12 years of experience.
However, after all those years, she decided that she actually preferred to help other attorneys instead of growing her own practice further. As a result, she started Streamline Legal where she helps law firms get the most out of their practice management software.
Marks Professional Background
Mark got both a business degree in marketing and a degree in technology. After college, he started out by offering management consulting mostly around IT. He got to jump into a company, do some consulting, help solve some problems, and then move to the next one. This kept him at the intersection of technology and marketing.
From there, he worked for a lot of big companies and then for some small startups. He realized those small startups were what he really loved. When he worked with those smaller businesses, he got to see his work really pay off and that is where his passion lies.
